Dubai Summer Surprises

The Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) is an annual festival event that was launched in the summer of 1998 by the Dubai government in order to promote Dubai as a family holiday destination. The summer travel event focuses on fun, knowledge, and entertainment for kids during the yearly summer vacation and attracts families year after year
The Dubai Summer Surprises mascot is named Modhesh (pronounced Mud-hish or Moe-desh), after the Arabic word for amazing, incredible and unexpected. One of the popular areas of the DSS, is the Modhesh Fun City, which can be found at the Dubai International Airport Expo and is open from 10am to 10pm on weekdays and has an entry fee of Dhs. 5 per child and Dhs. 10 per adult.

Despite the heat, the Ice Surprises will cover Dubai in snow as Splashy , Sparky, Mudhesh & their friends enjoy chilled entertainment around the city. Kids can enjoy 43 Ice Surprises activities like acrobatic shows, ice characters, stage shows, the three-dimension ice competition, magic bubble shows, ice wonderland, snow flakes and ice statutes & much more.

The Arts Surprises Week organsied by Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department (DNRD) begins tomorrow with a colourful array of 25 events being held at various venues throughout the emirate of Dubai. A formal opening ceremony of the second themed week in this year's Dubai Summer Surprises calendar will be held tomorrow evening at Modhesh Main Stage of the Modhesh Fun City in the Dubai World Trade Centre amidst Royal dignitaries, VIPs, members of the Organising Committee and members of the public and the media. This themed surprise week comes with an exciting package of fun, entertainment and learning opportunities
